We do not recommend beginners surf any classic open-ocean point breaks in Salina Cruz or the Isthmus. The combination of current, speed, and entry makes them unsafe learning environments.
Low Intermediates
Only possible on very small swell days and highly selective points. Even then, positioning and exit routes must be understood.
Solid Intermediates & Advanced
Suitable — but not every day, and not every point. Conditions dictate everything in this region.
